Roy brings with him six years of professional experience building custom applications for internal and external clients.
He is a lifelong learner who has an unlimited amount of fun facts he loves sharing with the team.
Let’s get to know Roy a little bit better!
How did you first learn about Sidi.io?
After being laid off due to the pandemic, I reached out to Erica Wong for a LinkedIn recommendation since we previously worked together. She mentioned that her company was looking to hire a Front-End Engineer. I checked out Sidi.io and applied immediately.
What do you like most about Sidi.io?
Definitely the people. It is a unique and dynamic team, and it continues to amaze me how well we work together, only meeting virtually and across multiple time zones.
What’s your favourite fun fact?
Suppose you randomly shuffle an ordinary deck of cards. Chances are, the sequence you produced has probably never occurred in the history of card playing and will never be reproduced for the rest of time. That is because the number of possible permutations of 52 cards is 52 factorial (52 × 51 × 50 × … × 3 × 2 × 1 or 52!). That’s 8.065 × 10^67, a number that exceeds the number of nanoseconds that have elapsed since the beginning of the universe.
Neil Patrick Harris, for no particular reason.
If you could witness any historical event, what would you want to see?
Building of the Great Pyramid of Giza.
What got you interested in coding?
I’ve always loved solving puzzles, and coding is like solving one puzzle after another.
Do you have a favourite meme?
Of course, I had to choose a front-end dev meme. I like it because CSS is awesome but can be infuriating at times.
What have you gained from working at Sidi.io?
A job that challenges all my skills and pushes me to learn and get better every day.
What is your dream vacation?
An expedition to Antarctica to photograph penguins.
